Got back to my desk after picking my kids up and found, lo and behold, 1600+ unread e-mails and climbing.  When I finally shut my machine down to free up memory I was at 1952.  Why the sudden burst of e-mail?  Comment spam.  Thousands of them.  So trackbacks were first, now comments.  This looks like a concerted attack of spam.  I know what I'm doing for the rest of the evening.

Okay Blogware, you have to step up to the plate here.  There is no comment management to speak of.  You can allow anonymous comments or not.  Without anonymous comments allowed, to leave a comment you have to have a Blogware ID.  Which isn't an easy process.

Also there is no comment moderation.  A comment submitted is a comment published.  This has to stop.  There isn't mass comment deletion or blacklisting.  At least with trackback spam I can delete and block in one fell swoop.

So, sorry, I've had to turn off anonymous comment on several blogs.  Blogware?  What's your stand?
