I got a ping from Ross yesterday about a new feature from Blogrolling.com (which, admittedly I haven't even used before, but shall be changing soon ...) called the Hot 500. It's live and public now, though Ross says it needs a couple tweaks. They've even got a cool badge if you make the list.Ross was inspired by Jason Calacanis asking for a new "hot" list. and wirtes about the whole process on the Blogrolling blogBlogrolling News -- Introducing the Blogrolling Hot 500and makes another announcement on Random Bytes.
So, this is an interesting week. We've got IceRocket's new LinkTracker and now a new hot blog list, both of which will hopefully start to shake things up. I think this is further evidence that the Blogosphere (is it a capital "B" anyway?) is hitting a great time.
We've got new innovations in technology (like multi-lingual Technorati), new players in some spacesLinkTracker and Hot 500and new publishing paradigmsBusinessBlogConsulting.com. This isn't a fad, this is a movement. This isn't a blubble, it's a sea change (I've been trying to think of a good water metaphor). Will some blogs fade off? Sure, so do "regular" websites. Will there be more public "I can't take this anymore ..." from high-profile folks? Sure. But these are exciting times. So, let's roll up our sleeves and start blogging!
