Hmm an RSS screensaver ... who's gonna read it?

Hmm, MSN is launching an RSS-enabled screensaver—MSN Launches Screensaver With Search RSS—okay. Remember Pointcast? Remember someone finally saying ... "Um, why do we want to have ads displayed with content on a computer screen when no one is around to read it?" As cool as this I'm sorry I don't need my screensaver to give me RSS headlines. I'm not going to sit and wait for it to become active to read them. Who's going to care? I'll keep Jessica Biels, Wesley Snipes, and Ryan Reynolds and my Blade Trinity screensaver, thank you very much.

Yes, this is a nice implementation of technology. Fine, it works. But will this bring RSS to the masses? Not a chance. Now, Jessica Biels reading me my RSS headlines, okay I'd hang around for that.
