Stuart has been a busy guy writing about Jyve. Man I gotta hand it to him, he's got it coveredSkype Journal- Jyve Web Tags -Skype Journal- Jyve - Now We Are Talking Presence -Skype Journal- Jyve - Skype Forwarding To Mobile -Skype Journal- The Jyve - Skype Card -Skype Journal- Skype Interactive Sites - Powered by JyveI think he's written about every feature Jyve has. Here's the basic info. Jyve is a Windows plugin for Skype that let's you put your presence, IM me, VM me and other cool features on webpages. I'm going to be putting these on the Qumana blog and other places.
Andrew Hansen tipped me off well over a month ago about Jyve when it was in beta and not everything was public.
I've tried a bunch of other Skype plugins, mostly video ones, and I've only stuck with Jyve. It's really the only one at gives me enough value to be worth the (marginal) memory and processor load. Being able to auto-answer IMs while I'm away or on a call is awesome. Also, not that people listen or read, sending an IM to people not on my contacts list when they call could be helpful ... if people would read it.
I haven't tried the feature of having Jyve use SkypeOut to call your phone when you get a Skype call. I don't usually have a need since if I'm by my phone I'm also by the computer.
Anyway, I really would give Jyve a serious try. It is cool and has a simple and easy interface to work with.
