On Tech Central Station there was a discussion of Pajamas Media, a new potential ad force for the Blogosphere—TCS- Tech Central Station - The Rise of Pajamas Media. Besides the great news of a challenger to Google, this represents something truly important in the Blogosphere: individual bloggers being aggregated as an advertising force of their own.
The
problem, as I have written about time and again, is that Google, even
AdSense for Feeds, just doesn't cut it for most bloggers.
Google
isn't delivering great ads or paying much for clicks. Their
contextuality engine needs work to be able to adapt to the unique
nature of blogs. Primarily Google AdSense doesn't deal well with
several different topic areas on the same page. Sure, you can get
a decent ad (on Blogware this actually requires customizing the base
temple to make the article title come first) on a page with just a
single article, but on the homepage... jeez sometimes I shake my head.
What's do be done? Pajamas Media is a good start. But, hey, I think there is a better and easier way. More on that later ...
