As you have seen of late I have hadas most Qumana folksChitika ads in my posts. These have been very successful for me. It's always fun, though, to get tipped off to something new. Chitika let Qumana know late last week about their new eMiniMall ad format. I have to say that this has got to be one of the most innovative ad formats I've seen in my ten years of eMarketing.
The links to all the info is at the end of this post, so let me explain them (the screenshots don't do them true justice). These are dynamic, javascript and DHTML banners, with tabs. The tabs you see are active, they let you look for information related to the product advertised before you click to buy. The ads operate in two modes, one is "full automatic" , that is contextually on the page. But you can also define keywords or product names to generate the ad.
This ad format isn't going to work for blog posts and RSS feeds, too much Javascript, but for the sites themselves these should be fine. I got a media briefing from Chitika on Saturdayproving once again that start ups don't sleepabout these ads. The whole premise is to better prequalify people before they click. Before you buy the iPod of your dreams, read some reviews. Still not right? Do a search. In fact the search is intelligent in that if visitors keep searching for a particular thing on a particular site, the ads will adjust to accommodate. Now that's cool.I've implemented the ads in two places thus far, View from the Isle and CookingMadeSimple. I expect to place them in two or three other sites.
I know more sizes are coming down the pike to test. Right now I'm using the 180x150 and 780x90 sizes. I'm also not defining the keywords, I want to see how the ads change on each page.
Happy clicking!
