Since Blogware turned on captchas (the little graphic thingy you have to read and enter the characters displayed to post a comment), I turned anonymous comments back on.  Interestingly, though, I'm still getting a little comment spam.  I even had an experience similar to, though not nearly as vile as Shel points to here—Naked Conversations- Lamer than Lame, Lower than Low—where a real human entered a real comment, but linked to something completely irrelevant.  Neville is seeing the same thing—NevOn- Think of blog spam as cockroaches.  I think comment spammers are getting pretty desperate, though, because I had a couple pieces of comment spam that actually got through.  I'm thinking that spammers are hiring people to sit and comment and copy and paste all day.  Man that would just rot.

Regardless, like any money-making endeavor people are clever, crafty, imaginative, and innovative.  Hey, we're trying to be innovative here at Qumana too, but come on, could we catch a break please?  Enough with trackbacks that I have to follow or carefully read the URLs to see if they are spam.  Same goes for comments.  Enough is enough!

Okay so maybe blogging at 3:00 AM isn't a great idea ...
